About

I returned to clay after more than twenty-five years running my own business, Annette International. Ceramics had always been part of my life, but only recently did I decide to dedicate myself fully to it, using clay as a way to explore ideas, memories, and questions that feel meaningful at this stage of life.

I work primarily with handbuilt clay and the nerikomi technique, mixing Mason stains into porcelain and other clay bodies to create colored clay. By layering, slicing, and recomposing these colors, the patterns become embedded within the material itself rather than applied to the surface. The process is slow and deliberate, allowing form, structure, and pattern to emerge together.

My work often blends functional and sculptural forms. Familiar objects become vessels for reflection—exploring themes of transformation, identity, resilience, and the hidden stories we carry.

Through clay, I hope to create pieces that invite introspection, contemplation, and conversation.
